I am a self confessed fishing addict, fishing from the age of 5 I have built a wide range of knowledge on numerous aspects of fishing. Whether fishing for roach on a whip, stick float on the Bristol Avon, bream on the Gloucester canal or carp on the pole, I’ve always liked to do a bit of everything and use what I’ve learnt to catch more fish. My background is predominantly match fishing first of all with Thornbury fishing club, then Frome Vale juniors and then onto Bristol angling Centre match team. My successes lead me to being asked to fish for Bathampton and have been lucky enough to fish with some very talented local anglers, whom I have learnt a lot from. I have been part of the local match fishing scene for over 20 years Fishing the commercial House and angling times winter league and then winter league semi finals/ finals, division 1 and 2 nationals enjoying some great success for what has always been a very good local team. I have been lucky enough to pass on my affection for fishing to my son Charlie (age 9) and he has already managed to catch tench to 7 lb, barbel to 7 lb, carp to 15 lb as well as nets of roach on the pole. I am passionate about passing on my skills to others and helping to develop young anglers who are the future of the sport. I have a level 1 angling coaching qualification and would like to get people from the local community fishing and using Bitterwell Lake as a place to spend time with friends and to make new ones! My youngest son Jaxon has Downs Syndrome and I want to give him and others like him the opportunity to be involved in fishing and the outdoors to benefit their well being and give a sense of identity and achievement. I have lots of experience working with young people as a residential support worker and am fully qualified with regards to child protection, safeguarding, first aid and many other relevant training courses. I aim to build a provision that the local community can access and with the help of my family and fishery team we look forward to what the future holds. If you have any interest in benefiting from this then please feel free to come down and meet myself and the team.
